The purpose of joining the Scout Movement is for children to have fun. Through this fun they can learn various skills including teamwork, leadership and self confidence as well as make friends for life.
The Scout Movement is open to Boys and Girls with different sections for different age ranges
Joeys are generally aged 5-8,
Cubs are aged 8-11
Scouts are aged 11-15
Venturers are aged 15-18,
Rovers go from 18 to 26
Children thinking of joining are welcome to attend for 4-6 weeks. We ask that the parent complete the membership form before their first night. This paperwork is kept on file until they decide to join.
When you child in invested into the scout movement we will invoice the family.
There is a joining fee of $35 and the cost of membership is $75 per quarter (2020), $50 of this fee goes to State Headquarters to cover accident insurance and membership fees. the remainder is to cover hall maintenance, badges, leader training and some leader costs.
